Opening Dinner Week!
Hi @first-name,
This upcoming week (Week of 8/30) marks the beginning of our opening dinner! I'll be praying for you as you continue to build upon existing relationships, but also create new ones.
With that, here are a few suggestions to consider as we head into our Opening Dinner Week:
- Please send out pot-luck sign-ups/catering plans and details. This includes things like asking if there are any dietary restrictions, how much people can expect to pitch in, what foods to bring, etc.
- Be sure to explain host home rules. Again, if you are NOT the host, I want to really push you to advocate on behalf of your host. Make clear which areas can be accessed and which areas are off limits. At the same time, please encourage the group to take part in taking care of the host home, such as cleaning up after!
- Make sure everyone knows the child policies. If you are a child-friendly group, explain clearly the child-protection policies. This includes things like the never alone rule, or even where children will be during each session.
- Use the time more for fellowship than anything else. Aside from the few administrative details to cover and suggested small group material, use the time primarily for fellowship and relationship building!
